Self-catering villa · Hout Bay, Cape Town
A three-bedroom, family-friendly villa a short walk from Hout Bay's beach, with a private pool, a double garage, and the foothills of Table Mountain right outside the window.
The villa
The beach is the big draw: a short, flat walk and you're on the sand. Hout Bay itself sits where the Table Mountain range runs down to meet the Atlantic — a working fishing harbour, a handful of art studios, and that beach curling in under the cliffs. This villa is a few minutes from all of it, tucked into a quiet street with the mountains filling every upstairs window.
Inside, three en-suite bedrooms sleep six guests comfortably. Outside, a plunge pool looks straight at the peaks, a grapevine pergola shades the courtyard table, and a rooftop terrace catches the last of the evening light. Come winter, the wood-burning fireplace turns the living room into the best seat in the house. A double garage downstairs has room for the car, the bikes and the boards, and solar panels with battery storage keep the lights on even when the rest of town's don't.

Around the villa
An old grapevine grows across a wooden pergola above the outdoor table — shade in the afternoon, dappled light for dinner.
A pop-art portrait of Nelson Mandela greets you on the way up — one of a few playful, locally-minded art pieces scattered through the house.
A floor-to-ceiling jungle mural over the sink and dishwasher — the laundry and washing-up happen here, tucked just off the main kitchen.
The upstairs living area opens onto the balcony on one side and the kitchen on the other — sofas worn in just right, and a fire for the cooler evenings.
Tucked under a reed roof on the upper balcony, this is where the evening usually ends — mountains on one side, the sky doing its thing on the other.
This is the reason to visit in winter, not just summer: the wood burner going, the sofa pulling you in, and the garden glowing just outside the glass.
A double garage with secure parking for the car, plus space (and a few boards and bikes of our own) for whatever you bring along.
Tucked just off the entrance hall, the downstairs guest toilet has its own colourful tropical bird mural — a small surprise on the way in.
A narrow lap pool runs the length of the back garden, with a water feature at one end and enough lawn for the kids to actually run around.
We're proud of the artwork throughout the house — original, colourful pieces by local artists that give every room a bit of character.
Outside
Hout Bay lives outdoors — long lunches under the pergola, an afternoon dip with the mountain as a backdrop, and evenings that don't really want to end. The pool, the garden and the outdoor table are all yours for the stay.

Location
The villa is a short, flat walk from Hout Bay's beach — and from the harbour too, if you want fishing boats, a resident seal colony and a Saturday craft market. It's a five-minute drive from Llandudno and Camps Bay, and Chapman's Peak Drive, one of the most scenic coastal roads in the world, starts right at the edge of the bay.
Cape Town city centre and Table Mountain's cableway are around 25 minutes away by car.
The house is 210 square metres, set on a 399 square metre plot.
It's a wonderful family house. What makes it truly special is the location: within walking distance of Hout Bay beach, and just a short stroll to the shops.
